Mergers and acquisitions were the order of the day in 2020 and it seems that the growth of this type of operations continues this new year that S4 Capital , Sir Martin Sorrell's company, has begun with two acquisitions. Creative agency Decoded Advertising will join MediaMonks, while Metric Theory , the performance marketing agency, will become part of the MightyHive firm. Although 2020 has been a very difficult year for the advertising industry, Sorrell believes that 2021 will be a year of strong recovery for the global economy , as he noted in an interview with Adweek . “Both combinations continue our momentum, expanding our digital, strategic, creative, data and digital media capabilities in line with our 2021 objectives,” states the CEO of S4 Capital in the official statement announcing the acquisitions .
Decoded Advertising was founded in 2014 by Matt Rednor , has nearly 200 people in New York and Los Angeles, and serves global clients such as TMobile, Intuit, Visa, WW International, and SC Johnson. “Matt and his Phone Number List colleagues at Decoded share our vision of using data to develop and produce effective creative work and distribute campaigns through digital media. “They have created a highly successful, award-winning agency that will be an important addition to the family,” says Sorrell. Ken Baker, Jeff Buenrostro, Jeremy Brown and Adam Edwards founded Metric Theory in 2012. With B2B clients such as Gofundme, Zenefits, Very Great, Maisonette and Hill House Home, Metric Theory has more than 130 people in San Francisco, Denver, New York and Orange County.
Our data and digital media practice is built on providing clients with transparency and measurable results , two values at the heart of the business that Ken and his colleagues have built at Metric Theory,” says Sorrell. Decoded and Metric Theory will add 350 professionals to S4 Capital's team of 3,400, which estimates a gross profit of approximately $70 million in 2020 , a growth of 50% compared to 2019. Half of the operation will be in cash and the other half with the issuance of common shares of S4 Capital. In the statement, Sir Martin Sorrell's company reveals that he will soon announce more moves .
